OAA Boys Basketball will be reviewing guidance from the Minnesota State High School League regarding the pandemic.

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball program is a recreational league for players in 3rd through 8th grade. Three leagues: 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, and 7th/8th grade. The goal of the program is to provide an enjoyable, positive environment in which participants learn the fundamentals of basketball. For the 2021-2022 season, OAA 3rd/4th grade teams and 5th/6th grade teams will compete with surrounding communities in the Metro East Rec League. OAA 7th/8th grade teams will compete in the SCVAA rec league.

Typically, teams practice for one 75 minute session per week and play one game per week. Practices are on weeknights and typically begin in mid-November. Games are on Saturday mornings and afternoons and typically start in early December and continue into late February or early March. Practice time/locations will be set after the school district allocates gym times.

  • Satisfy player preferences in order by registration date and time.
  • Assign players based on a common unsatisfied preference.
  • Assign players based on school.
  • Assign any remaining players where ever the player fits.
