We are hopeful that we will be able to safely return to the sport of wrestling.  Due to the ongoing pandemic, there are some necessary changes to our program.   These safety measures are in accordance with the CDC, MDH, and District 622 guidelines and recommendations.

1. Please stay home if you are not feeling well.

2. Everyone who enters the building must wear a mask.  Coaches and wrestlers may remove their masks while actively engaging in the sport.

3. Only wrestlers and coaches will be allowed in the wrestling room.  Wrestlers should be dropped off at the front of the high school, where a leader will ensure the wrestler gets to the wrestling room.  For our younger athletes, parents may enter the building and remain outside the wrestling room if necessary.  Masks are required.  We request limiting your attendance to one grown up, in an effort to reduce congestion and maintaining distancing.

4. Wrestlers should bring their own labeled water bottle to every practice.

5. Parents or guardians should pick up wrestlers at the entrance to the high school promptly at the end of practice.

6. If a member of our community has a confirmed Covid-19 infection, OAA will follow MDH guidelines and inform all those who may have been exposed to the virus, while maintaining confidentiality as much as possible.

These procedures are subject to change at any time due to the evolving situation.

Singlets are generally worn for tournaments.  This year, we will give wrestlers three options:

  1. Purchase a new singlet and keep it for $50.  It will match our current stock of singlets.
  2. Rent a used singlet and return it at the end of the season.  Rent is $15.
  3. Wear shorts and a t-shirt.  The tournaments we attend do not require singlets. Make sure shorts and shirt are free of zippers, snaps, or buttons.  A snugger fit will work better, so fabric doesn’t bunch up or get grasped by the opponent.

Ordering a new singlet:  If you want to order a new singlet, we will place an order on November 1st and December 15th.  We expect orders to take 6 weeks, so plan ahead!  If you want your singlet in time for our early tournaments, order by November 1st!  To order, email us the size and send $50 cash or check.
