While registering your player, you will be asked if you wish to volunteer. Please consider doing so. This program is run entirely by volunteers. Thank you.

OAA Boys Basketball will be instituting new protocols this season for practices and games..  With guidance from the MSHSL we will distribute a Return to Play Basketball COVID Plan along with a waiver.  A review of the plan guidelines and a signed waiver will be required prior to any participation. Practices will likely be limited to one hour, once per week. Depending upon the gym, spectators may or may not be allowed.

Refund Policy

If we don't have a season due to the pandemic, everyone will receive a full refund.

Assuming we have a season, all refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee.  Refunds, as well as the amount of the refund are left to the discretion of the league director. Refunds may take up to 10 business days to process.

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball program is a recreational league for players in 3rd through 8th grade. 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders play in single grade leagues, whereas the 7th and 8th graders combine to form one league. The goal of the program is to provide an enjoyable, positive environment in which participants learn the fundamentals of basketball. OAA teams compete with surrounding communities in the East Metro Rec League. The league is administered by Maplewood. See for official game schedules.

Typically, teams practice for one 75 minute session per week and play one game per week. Practices are on weeknights and typically begin in mid-November. Games are on Saturday mornings and afternoons and typically start in early December and continue into late February or early March. Practice time/locations will be set after the school district allocates gym times.

  • Assign players based on a common unsatisfied preference.
  • Assign players based on school.
  • Assign any remaining players where ever the player fits.
