***MINORS END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT BRACKET***

The End of Season Tournament Bracket is finalized and
all Seeds have been posted.   Tournament starts Friday (7/26) and runs through Monday (7/29) and is Double Elimination.

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED AS WE HAVE
ENOUGH PLAYERS TO FILL ALL TEAMS

MINORS BASEBALL

Minors baseball is a kid pitch baseball league for players in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade on April 1st.  The goal of the program is to provide a positive environment in which participants enjoy playing baseball and continue to improve skills.  Pitching and base stealing are added at this level. An umpire calls balls and strikes.

Typically, teams practice for one hour, once per week and play one game per week.  Weekly games are played on Tuesday evening. Games will start the second or third week of May and will end with post season games during the July 26-28 weekend.  Practices typically begin in late April after the city determines the fields are suitable. Due to the limited number of fields, practices may be on Sunday through Thursday nights.  Practice time/locations will be set after coordinating with coaches.

INDOOR PLAYER EVALUATION/COACHES DRAFT:
There will be an Indoor Player Evaluation/Coaches Draft this year and is MANDATORY FOR ALL PLAYERS & COACHES to attend.   There is no makeup date for this Evaluation, so if any player(s) cannot attend we will try to roster them according to school.
THIS IS NOT A TRYOUT AND NO KIDS WILL BE CUT, IT IS FOR EVALUATION PURPOSES ONLY.

Date: Saturday, April 6th
Start Time: 3:30pm
End Time: 5:30pm
Location: Tartan High School.
Address: 828 Greenway Ave N, Oakdale, MN 55128

Information:  Please show up at least 20 minutes early for check in and to get a numbered evaluation shirt.  You will need to use the door at the rear of the school (loading dock) to get in. Due to the number of players, this will be a closed door event to parents. This means no parents in the gyms, but you can stay in the hallways or come back early.   Please have all players bring glove, batting helmet and bat. We will have extra bats to use if necessary. (NO SPIKES INSIDE GYM)

The Coaches Draft will start immediately after the Player Evaluation and should be done by 6:30pm.  If a Head Coach is not available during the draft, they can select their Assistant Coach(es) to draft.  If there are no Assistant Coach(es) to draft, the Director will draft the team.

The number of head coaches is based upon number of registrants, so coaches that register first have first chance at being a coach.

ALL COACHES:  Please see the Document titled 2019 Minors Coach Draft Process for Rules about the Player Evaluation/Coaches Draft.

We understand most concerns, however the Player Evaluation is designed to make the league/teams more competitive and to encourage players to form additional friendships this summer.

BECOMING A HEAD COACH OR ASSISTANT COACH:Volunteers are essential to the program.  Please consider volunteering to be a coach or team manager.  If you intend to be a head coach, an assistant coach, or a team manager, please indicate this when you register your child.  Head Coaches can have up to 2 Assistants (including team manager) on their team, so please indicate this during Registration as well.

Saturday Morning Baseball

Weather permitting, on Saturdays (June 8, June 15 & June 29) Minors participants are invited to Richard Walton Park field 6 and 5 to play baseball from 10:15 - 11:45am. This activity is entirely optional, but if you're looking for an opportunity to play more baseball, this is it. The intent is for the kids to play with minimal involvement from the adults. This is not a coaching/training activity.  Minors rules shall be followed and teams will be assembled by the director.
