The Oakdale Athletic Association held an emergency board meeting last night to discuss our fall sports. All of us parents want our children out playing with their friends and maybe playing a sport or two but these last few months have proven to make that almost impossible. Please rest assured that we (the OAA Board) have been working overtime since this all started back in March to find ways to get the kids out playing and doing it safely. As restrictions have loosened in some areas they have also tightened in others. We are trying our best and waiting as long as we can to make decisions for each seasonal sport. OAA is using the high school as a guide to help us with making our decision and we are sure our surrounding associations are as well. The three things that we have to keep in mind are: what are the schools going to allow us to do, what is Oakdale going to allow us to do and what are the other associations going to do.
Listed below is how we are going to handle the fall sports.
Soccer – All Soccer Leagues will run with modified seasons. Your Director will contact you once things have been put in place. Registration will resume.
Flag Football – All Flag Football Leagues will run with modified seasons. Your Director will contact you once things have been put in place. Registration will resume.

Tackle Football (7th-8th) – 2020 Season will be canceled but may have possible options with the high school. The Directors will reach out to you with more information once decisions are made.
Volleyball – 2020 Season has been canceled. Option to move to the spring is on the table but your Director will be reaching out to you soon regarding that. Current 2020 registrations will be refunded. Registration CLOSED.
Wrestling - We are waiting to hear from the high school on what they are going to allow. We’ll know more as we get closer to the season.
Basketball (Boy/Girls) - We are waiting to hear from the high school on what they are going to allow. We’ll know more as we get closer to the season.
Please watch emails regarding winter sports as the season gets closer.
I know this saddens most of us because we would like life to get back to normal. But right now we have a lot of hoops to jump through and rules to follow and not all sports are going to allow us to move forward. Please know that the OAA Board is doing everything they can to make things happen for your kids and get them back out there playing with their friends.
If you have any questions, please contact your league Director(s). They will get back to you as soon as they can.
