Good Morning OAA Members.
I wanted to give you an update on spring sports as it relates to COVID-19. The OAA Board Members have been holding extra meetings to work out what options there are to give the kids a spring sport activity.
Unfortunately, given the time frame of the governor’s orders along with other city associations canceling their season, OAA will be doing the same for their in-house rec leagues. All rec t-ball, baseball and softball leagues will be canceled for the 2020 season.
Traveling baseball and softball will not be canceled yet. We will be deciding by June 15th whether we continue or cancel traveling ball.
As for refunds, ALL in-house rec leagues will be getting a full refund on payments made. Please allow our treasurer 2-3 weeks to get all these done as there is a lot of them to do. Refunds will be electronically returned to the card used to register your child.
If traveling ball is canceled the refunds for these leagues will be determined at that time. If you have more questions regarding this, please contact your league director.
Registrations for future sports will be on hold based on the governor’s orders. If things look like they are opening, we will get registrations open right away. We will continue to send communication as we find out more information.
Gaming (Pull tabs, Bingo, etc.) will resume beginning 6/1/2020.
The Oakdale Athletic Association (OAA) is an independent, nonprofit, youth organization administered and managed by volunteer adults. All residents of Oakdale are eligible to be members of OAA.
A board of directors selected by the general membership runs the association. The board is a policy-making body responsible for the smooth administration of its 8 youth sports programs: Baseball, Basketball, Football, Lacrosse , Soccer, Softball, Travel Baseball, Travel Softball, Volleyball and Wrestling. The board relies on participation from hundreds of coaches and parents who volunteer many hours of their time to the youth of Oakdale. The Oakdale Athletic Association Board meets the second Wednesday of each Month at 8PM at the Sgt. Peppers. Anyone in our community is welcome to attend a meeting to just listen or to get involved. Contact any Board Member to get more information.
Board of Directors meet the second Wednesday of every month unless noted otherwise. OAA Members are welcome to join.
We will update the field status no later than 4:00pm. Field status message will above if fields are closed.
All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee. Refunds, as well as the amount of the refund are left to the discretion of the league director. Partial refunds are also subject to the $10.00 processing fee. Refunds may take up to 15 business days to process.
