  •  OAA U8 soccer league is a fall season recreation sport.
  • Game play is 5 v 5, including the goalie.
  • One practice per week beginning in mid August. Each team practice night will be chosen by the coach.
  • Volunteering to coach your childs team allows you to choose your preferred evening and time for practice.
  • Games are every Thursday evening, played on fields in Oakdale.
  • Games are played in September and October.
  • Teams are made after registration closes and an email will be sent at that time. Click on a team name then select roster. Please search all rosters to see which team your child will play for.
  • The head coach will have contact info on your team page. They will be in charge of informing you of games, practices, picture dates and any information regarding your team.

Registration Information

REGISTRATION IS:    CLOSED

Fees:

  Early registration:   May 1 - June 30   - $55.00
  Regular registration:  July 1 - July 31  -$65.00

Please register for this league if your childs birthdate falls between these dates:

Fall 2016
Soccer League Player Birthdate
U8 8-1-08 to 7-31-09

Teams are formed after registration is closed. Late registration requests are only granted if a team space is available. That will be determined by the director.

Refunds requested after registration has closed are subject to a $15.00 fee due to equipment purchased.

Players are assigned to teams in the following manner:

  • Satisfy family relationships.
  • Satisfy player preference
  • Assign any remaining players wherever the player fits, based on grade and team size.

Ideally all preferences could be satisfied. Unfortunately, this is generally impossible due to constraints such as:

  • Balancing the age mix on each team.
  • Balancing the total number of players on each team.

Please do not assume teams and friends stay together - early registration can significantly contribute to having preferences satisfied.  In any case, please encourage players to form additional friendships this fall.

Equipment

Players are responsible for their own shin guards and shoes. Please note that baseball cleats are not allowed because they have a toe cleat.  For a comparison of soccer vs baseball cleats, visit:  http://www.soccer-for-parents.com/soccer-cleats.html

OAA provides:

  • Team jersey
  • Shorts
  • Socks
  • Soccer Balls size 3
